The Berlin Hampf Museum, and sole museum about this controversial plant in Germany, has been with us since 1996, in the unexpected Nikolaiviertel (both the area and the fact that the museum is precisely there are unexpected).

The museum presents all the aspects of the plant objectively and free of prejudice, from its usage to the associations with it. Starting at the botanical sciences of its cultivation and harvest, the museum shows the development process up to the different end products and uses. The 300m2 exhibition presents an historical as well as contemporary perspective, closing with the development of its criminalisation and the legal framework within which the plant has been placed.

In a truly German way, the exhibition remains objective, neither downplaying nor hysterically informing. There is a café where you can sit and read, and browse the products at the shop.
