On Saturday, the 20th of June, members of the local community will stage a demonstration at Tempelhof Airport, to protest the Berlin Senate's plans to commercialize the area.
As the struggle between commercial development and grass roots community projects continues, the treasured site of the Tempelhof Airport is up for grabs. Demonstrators will attempt to occupy the old airport grounds for much of the day. They invite everyone, so for all of you who have an interest in the history and future of Berlin, for anyone who has an interest in German culture, politics, social movements, or even just a little excitement, you may want to check it out.
